-Had orders to get ready for march
tomorrow- Packed 60 things in
an box – (Recd.?) #10 letter from Mary
104 ½ miles marching

26th […] at 3 AM – Sunday
Got everything packed up-
Went up to Ms. Moores with
Capt Bailey’s baggage-
Ms.   agreed to […] with
him 3 or 4 days—Herbert was
ordered to stay by him-
had 29 dollars of his money
– […] – got underway
7 A.M. – marched up by

by the road – the Berlin on the
side of the canal –
our division croped the Pon-
toon bridge about 1-[…]
-went about 3 miles + […]
near Lortsville(?)

26th Oct. Lortsville(?) Va.
Had a wet march + a wet (night?)
Lt. Rd + I tented with Underwood
+ Co – Had a good fire. 7 miles

27th no drills or Drip parade
-storm cleared off in A.M.
had a strong N.W. wind
O. A. Dorison went back to Berlin
to take care of Cd. Bowman who
was left there sick with Ague
– Got a wall tent, one ds. rat. P.B.S.+G

28th Heavy frost – no wind
Pleasant day-
Lt.Rd. went to Lortsvl.(?) + was
sworn in
Drew 1 days ration Fresh Beef
no drills or Drip Parade-
rest of brigade had parade
sent letter #7 to Mary by post.
Sent telegram to EI. M. Allen’s folks
(Allen died at Weverton(?))
