I now seat myself to pen you a few lines to let you know that I am well at present and hope these few lines will find you all the same we have left Carrolton on the eighth went up the River we are about two hundred miles from Orleans in camp at Morganza bend there is somewhere about fifteen thoughsand troops here I am on picket today we was relived to come in and get our pay I want to have you take two hundred of this and put it into the Bank and keep the wrest of it your self for fier that I mint send for some I want to have take out what I ow you and be Shure and take out enough to pay you for your trouble I would like to have you send out your photograph if you will I will send you mine I suppose you got that letter that I wrote I wrote one to Andrew directed it to Lowell did he get it I will close from your friend
