I now take my pen in hand to pen you a few lines to let you know where we are we have got here we are about six miles from Orleans up the River in Camp at Carrollton we got here the twentieth we was eight days and three hours comeing from New York we came on the Steamer Cahawber the same one that we went home on we past everything that we come across we had a Splendid voige Comeing the sun Shines here to what it does there how is everything there is the folks all right have you heard anything from Charles since he went away if you have let me know how to direct a letter I don’t suppose that you have seen any of the Kiltredges folks where I was that morning have you we expect to be paid of this week just as quick as I do I am going to send it there is no news to write to you now so I will have to draw my Letter to a close so I must bid you good bye give my respecks to all the Boys and consider This from your friend
