20th Sept- Bolivar Md.
Started 9 a.m. Went through
Bolivar- where Gen. Reno was
killed- through Boonsboro +
Keedysville- Smiles
Saw Charlie Parker wounded
in the legs- Passed Gen. Horlch(?)
a leg off- Saw G. Larthe(?)
Osgood + Kilburn wounded
they sepost(?) – Konig. J. Fazer(?)-
Holbrook Lord Batterson. Fansgn(?)
killed. G. Miner.  H. Holbrook
Dexter. H. Howd. J. Johnson.  Dixon
Garfield(?). G. Frazer. Connig(?), Lord
wounded. Theo Low. Joe Miner

Went on to the battle ground saw
a great many dead unburied
– The past(?) that I saw was near
over left-

21st Sept. Rudysville- Sunday
– no services-

marched 3 P.m. through
Sharpsburg where the houses show
the signs of fridays fight) Turns
to the left, and marched 2 miles
towards the river where we camped(?)
near Burnsides Heights. 5 miles

22 In camp

23rd LT(?). of guard- We were able
wh at 3 a.m. got arms and
equipments(?) & Remained on time
till daylight- Got a man from 25th U.G.

24th took him to Col. Welch + to
the Forest(?) guard
Step(?) Parade
