15th Sept. Brookville Md.
In camp- Drilling- Capt. Bailey
being Officer of day- I drilled the
6 O/11(?)

16th– Lt. of Guard- Orders not to
allow any one across the lines except
at Hd. gtrs(?) of Guard rained in night

17th Weds.  Started 9 a.m. marched
through Unity + Damascus-
I went ahead + tried to get a
team- Worthen(?) living below Damas
cus- also Shine at Union now
Encamped north of Damascus-
15 miles from Brookville.
– Fight near Rudysville

18th– In camp Forbes near Damascus
Started 8 a.m. – Got a team for
6 as Gr.(?) knapsacks- of has Motley(?)
Went through Kemp town (where
rebel pickets had been) Morinora(?)
Market- Bigelow Valley + Freder
ick City- 15 or 16 miles
rain in evening- got wet
Met on the road the 111 + 119th
N.Y. 32nd Ohio, 4th Mot. + 9th VA.
nY(?). taken prisoners at H. El +
paroled(?) –
City is a pretty place + in a
beautiful country- 52 mins from was lila(?) the way I came(?)

19th Left camp 10½ a.m. went
over the mountains to Middle
town – (pretty valley) + through
Brownsville(?)- 10 miles
Saw  J. Freeman(?) + Wheelock
Got a team for KPs.(?) @ G dots(?) a day
(Brownside(?) drove the rebels through
Sharpesburg(?) – 1908 Probably Bolivar(?)
