Perry pretty sick in our tent

One box HB due the 10th + all the

Col sent up his bedstead
+ Boynton got my matress
cover filled with straw, so
we made a comfortable bed
for Perry – Had [] +
fermentation on his bowels.
gave him some whiskey + water – + after taking an
injection he had one sleeping
powder. Sat with him
till 3 AM. when I called
Boynton.
Lucius came with 4.50 change
– 50 cts from Mary – letter
Oct. 23d – mittens + thats all

Perry commenced dying about
sunrise a daylight + breathed
his last about 7·45 A.M. –
He was properly draped –
Boynton + I got a box for him to
be taken to Warrenton in – 1.00
– Paid for dinner .50
Got pap + went to Warrenton
after having short services at our tent – Co B turned out
